Airport:
  • Antalya Airport: (AYT). Tel: (0242) 444 7423. The airport is 13km northeast from the city center.
  • The public Bus N* 600 connects the airport with the Antalya Bus terminal. It runs every 30 min.
  • Havaş Buses run every hour from the airport to the 5M Migros AVM Car Parking. It takes aprox. 45 min. and costs 13 TL one way. (Feb.2020)

  • Antalya Festivals: Tel: (0242) 243 4153
  • Aspendos: A very well preserved Roman amphitheater, 18km north east of Belek worthwhile seeing. It also hosts the famous Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival every year.
  • Antalyas old town (Kaleiçi): Don't miss walking around there !
  • Caves: The Antalya region has lots of caves (more than 20). Well known are the Karain Cave, 30km northwest of Antalya, the Kocain Cave, 45km north of Antalya and Altınbeşik Cave. To see more information on the Caves, click HERE

The Aspendos Theatre:

Only 15km east of Antalya, there is this amazing Amphitheater that was build in 155 AD by the Greek architecht Zenon while the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius ruled. The capacity of this Theater was between 15.000 and 20.000 spectators. With a diameter of 96 meters, Aspendos is one of the best preserved ancient Theatres. Every summer there is the Aspendos Festival where tourists can enjoy seeing operas held there. More information about the Festival , click here

Alanya is about 2 hours drive east of Antalya and known for its long beaches (Cleopatra Beach)
Things to do and See:

  • Alanya Teleferik: It goes up to the castle where you can enjoy the amazing views over the beach or enjoy the sunset. Open from 9:30 to 20h

  • Damlataş Caves, Çarşı Mahallesi, Damlataş Cad. No:81.Tel: (0242) 513 1240 or (0242) 513 0508. Open from  9am to 7pm. This  cave was discovered during the construction of the Alanya Harbor in 1948. It has become known as an asthma cure due to the special conditions of the air.
  • Red Tower (Kizilkule), a symbol of the city dating to 1226.
  • Dimçay waterfalls in the Dim Çayı National park, about 30 min drive from Alanya
  • Dim Cave at entrance of the Dim Çayı National park, about 30 min drive from Alanya
  • Alara Kalesi, 37km west of Alanya. 
  • Syedra Castle, 35 min drive south-est of Alanya.

Isparta:
Isparta province is known for its Roses and Lavender, specially Kuyucak Village (about 45km from Isparta city center) but also Kuşcular and Çukurören villages. Only 1:30 hour drive north of Antalya, Isparta and the surrounding villages and Lakes are worth a visit.
Roses: The Damascene Rose is grown as a bush and when it is de-greased, its oil has a very special smell from where they do the rose water, other essentials and also used for cosmetics and skincare. The rose harvest takes place from Mid-May to Mid-June and worth a visit. 65% of the world  Damascene rose harvest comes from this area
Lavender: The lavender in this region is in full bloom in July, time to visit the fields, as in August it will be harvest.

Places to see around Isparta, not to be missed: Eğirdir lake, Gümüşgün, Senir, Burdur lake

Arycanda (Arykanda):

Arycanda  is a unique Lycian city, half way between Finike and Elmali, close to the town of Arif. By car about 30 min from Finike or 2 hours from Antalya. It lies on top of the mountain and is known as one of the oldest Lycien sites. 

If you drive on that road, take your time and make a stop to visit it, really worthwhile!
You will see an
Amphitheatre, Stadium, Agora, Odeon, Necropolises, Bouleuterion and the largest bath complex in Lycia
